Celebrity Traitors star Charlotte Church couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep during her time in the castle, and one ex-boyfriend found it hard to kip near his former flame on at least one occasion
Welsh songstress Charlotte Church will hope to get a better night’s sleep now her time in the Celebrity Traitors castle is over. Church, 39, was the fourth celeb to be murdered this season as her time on the hit BBC show came to an abrupt end.
The Traitors took out the Cardiff-born star after she had gained a reputation for being outspoken with her theories on who the killers may be. But Church reportedly did some kicking out of her own after telling an ex-boyfriend to sleep elsewhere at V Festival.
It was alleged that Church and her family were scheduled to stay in luxury accommodation in Virgin Media’s exclusive camping area. And that was supposed to include former Wales fly-half and centre Gavin Henson, Church’s long-term partner at the time.
However, those plans supposedly fell apart as Henson and some pals were told to look elsewhere for accommodation. And it left Henson at a loose end as his Saturday plans fell apart.
A source close to the situation told the Standard at the time: “The plan was that Gavin and Charlotte would allow a few friends to stay but later on Saturday night she decided that Gavin should find somewhere else to take his male friends.”

It’s believed the incident relates to the 2009 V Festival when both Henson and Church were in attendance. It was reported that year the former couple, who share two children together, had booked themselves a yurt, or Mongolian tent, to enjoy a little more luxury amid the scenes in Chelmsford.
Figures reported at the time estimate the accommodation set them back £600 per night, even if they both didn’t get to enjoy it as hoped. Each tent came equipped with Egyptian cotton linen and fluffy towels.
That’s not to mention rubbing elbows with other celeb attendees. The glamping experience clearly left something to be desired, however.
Fast forward to today, and while Henson is responsible for the running of The Fox pub in the Vale of Glamorgan, Church is still in the public eye following her appearance on Celebrity Traitors.
The former chart-topper didn’t get a chance to make much of an impact before she got the chop, however. That’s after the Traitor trio of Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns decided to get rid.
The aforementioned V Festival debacle wasn’t the only time Henson was stopped from sleeping near his then-girlfriend. That was thanks to Church’s grandmother intercepting the rugby star from camping with the singer on at least one occasion.
Henson was in his pomp with Ospreys and Wales in the mid-2000s, and Church would stay with her nan while he was away with the squad. However, Church Sr’s house was sacred ground, and there would be no consummation before marriage under her roof.
“I don’t think nan would be very happy if I brought Gavin round,” Church was quoted saying in 2005. “We’d have to sleep in separate beds – and I don’t want that.”
