A driver slammed into a number of cars parked on a street in Erdington, Birmingham, late on Friday before two men fled the scene on foot, with a police investigation now underway
A driver slammed into multiple cars on a street in Birmingham before fleeing the scene on foot.
The car hit a number of vehicles parked along Wheelwright Road in Erdington shortly before 11.30pm on Friday, with two men then seen leaving the area on foot. An eyewitness who was walking his dog at the time of the collision reported seeing a vehicle speeding past and slamming into “a bunch of parked cars”.
He added: “The suspect appeared to have fled the scene before police and an ambulance arrived. Locals were confused by the chaos that had happened at that time and were upset with the pure brutality and neglect of towards their property.
“These could’ve have been people’s lives at risk because of the negligent driver.”
The witness also claims he found drugs at the scene and handed them over to police, reports Birmingham Live.
West Midlands Police said it is investigating the incident and is appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
A spokesman for the force said: “Shortly before 11.30am on Friday night (May 15) we were called to a road traffic collision involving multiple vehicles on Wheelwright Road, Tyburn. There were no reported injuries. Two men from one of the vehicles left the scene.
“We are making enquiries and anyone with any information should contact us on 101 quoting log number 6362 of 15 May.”
