Police in Northern Ireland are investigating the discovery of a cannabis factory after a house fire in Bessbrook, Co Down, on Sunday afternoon
A blaze at a Co Down residence on Sunday led to the unexpected unearthing of a cannabis factory, according to reports.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) were first on the scene, alerting attending officers to the significant stash of cannabis and related paraphernalia discovered amidst the flames in Newry.
Inspector Walker reported: “We received a report at around 4.25pm on Sunday, 18th January of a house on fire in the Thomas Street area of Bessbrook.
