Budget airlines like Ryanair and EasyJet have strict hand luggage guidelines, but this ‘really spacious’ backpack fits under your seat and still fits ‘so many things inside’

There’s nothing worse than going to board your flight, only to be told your hand luggage is too big and will have to be placed in the hold – at a cost to you, of course. This is increasingly common, especially when flying with budget airlines like EasyJet and Ryanair, which are notorious for their strict baggage rules, and often only allow you to travel with a single under the seat bag for free.

However, if you’re planning a weekend getaway and don’t want to fork out for extra baggage allowances, this Taygeer Travel Backpack is ideal. It fits right within the tight airline rules, but still has a surprising amount of room inside to pack a few days worth of items inside.

The Taygeer Travel Backpack is already affordably priced at £29.99, but it’s now on sale for just £17.98 at Amazon. This 40% discount is only for a limited time, with Amazon counting down until it runs out at midnight tonight.

However if you miss out on the offer, there are some other good options. At ASOS, the Cabin Max 20l Metz Underseat Backpack is on sale for £24.95 down from £30, and comes in nine different colours. Or you could head to Antler for something more high end, with the Essential Weekender Bag in Stone which is £80 and is great for a long weekend away.

However, the Taygeer Travel Backpack is incredibly handy for all kinds of travelling, especially if you’re travelling by plane. You can pick it up in three different sizes, which have been categorised by different airlines to fit their hand luggage restrictions.

The Ryanair one is 40x30x20cm, fitting the airline’s limitations exactly. The EasyJet one is 45x36x20cm, and there’s also a Lufthansa cabin bag which measures 55x40x20, so whatever airline you’re flying with you’ll be able to fit your bag under your seat, which means no worrying overhead locker space, or waiting to pick up your bag at the other end.

However the Ryanair version of the Taygeer Travel Backpack will make sure your bag fits under the seat on all major airlines, and has several clever compartments to make packing even easier. There’s a designated wet pocket with water-resistant material for toiletries or wet towels or bathing suits, as well as a shoe pouch, a laptop compartment, and front and a main inside pocket.

It opens up fully just like a suitcase would, which makes it easier to pack and find your belongings. It has adjustable shoulder straps made from supportive mesh to alleviate back pressure, side buckles and back luggage strap so you can attach it to another suitcase if you want.

The Taygeer Travel Backpack has a 4.6 star rating, with one reviewer saying: “Amazing bag, I can’t believe you can pack so many things in it, especially as it’s a Ryanair carry on one. There are lots of different compartments and even a built in charger for a power bank. Perfect for a weekend getaway. I would definitely recommend it, and will be buying another one for my hubby.”

Is roomy enough to put a few things in to cover if for any reason my main case did not arrive. It’s roomy and has various compartments for the different items. The colour is great and matches my set of luggage which is a bonus. Price was good so I’m happy to recommend to other customers.”

One did mention: “Maximum easyJet hand luggage size, and could fit masses of gear in. Very lightweight, which may be a good thing. I really like it, but it feels flimsy when loaded up and I could see the stitches starting to show the strain. So I don’t think it will last long sadly.”

Another wrote: “Lots of pockets etc. really floppy, material won’t last long.”
