Harry has explained why families may want to avoid the famous resort

Brit living in Benidorm says Spanish town ‘isn’t safe for children’

A Brit living in Benidorm is urging families to stay away from the hotspot during the summer holidays as it ‘isn’t safe for kids’. During the peak summer months, those travelling from the UK to the town make up 50% of all hotel guests.

And many of those are families with young kids looking for a cheap break away. However, 25-year-old Harry Poulton is urging those with little ones to cancel their flights and go elsewhere, as he deems the city ‘isn’t safe for children’.

In a clip, racking up 118,000 views and over a thousand likes, he reveals what he allegedly witnessed to deem Benidorm as ‘not the place’ for kids. “Just when I think Benidorm couldn’t get any worse, it just gets worse,” Harry said. “It’s nine […] in the morning, I’m walking down the streets of Benidorm and casually, minding my own business, [there’s] a lady who pulls her pants down.

“[She’s] probably drunk from last night and just starts doing a poo on the side of the street. No words, no jokes. She gets the tissue out of her bag and wipes. I just can’t believe what I’ve just seen.”

While Harry didn’t film the situation, in a bid to protect the woman’s privacy, he wanted to highlight how wrong people are when they say Benidorm is great for kids. He said: “It’s not when you’ve got drunk people running around doing poos on the side of the street. There is a thing called a toilet.

“It used to be [safe for kids] but not at the moment. I just don’t think Benidorm is good for kids anymore. Especially the New Town; the Old Town is a little bit different.”

And that’s not all Harry has seen. H e allegedly spotted a man wearing ‘basically nothing’ in broad daylight. He said: “So is Benidorm really good for children? Begs the question when you’ve got people running around with basically nothing on.

“And if you’re wondering, was his [area] showing? Unfortunately. When you’ve got things like that happening, it’s not really good for children in my opinion.

“I wouldn’t want my kid walking around seeing that – absolutely not. I understand people are coming out for a good time, but maybe think about your outfit choices.”

Harry added: “In the last couple of years, I think, that Benidorm has changed quite a lot. I think Benidorm is now appealing to a wider range of people; a lot of people coming out on stag and hen dos.

“And when you’ve got people running around with practically no clothes on, it really begs the question on if Benidorm is really appropriate for the younger ages. The strip area and the main English part of Benidorm isn’t the best place to take your kids.

“There’s loads of places around Benidorm that I think are brilliant for children; the Old Town, the aqua park, the zoo, Terri Mitica – these are all things that work in favour of your children.”

Harry warns all tourists – of any age – to stay away from three areas. He says to avoid The Yellow Brick Road, Pueblo Alley and Mugger’s Alley.
