Coby Keogh died in hospital on Sunday form injuries sustained from a house fire in Blackpool, Lancashire.
A 13-year-old boy has tragically died in hospital following a house fire believed to have started when an e-bike charger burst into flames.
Coby Keogh died on Sunday from his injuries sustained in the blaze in Blackpool, Lancashire, last Tuesday morning.
A 19-year-old man, named locally as Joey Gregory, remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Mr Gregory was reportedly staying at his friend’s home in Redcar Road when the fire broke out. In an emotional post on Facebook, his mum revealed he is continuing to fight for his life.
She wrote: “We were told on Tuesday that the first 24-48 hours were critical. Then they said 72….. We are on day 5 and my boy is still here.
“Keep fighting sunshine, we ain’t going nowhere. We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends. My boy is so loved. I don’t know where we are finding the strength from. Please keep praying.”
Three other people in the property suffered minor injuries.
An investigation into the fire is ongoing between Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
A police spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with Coby’s loved ones at this time, and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
“A file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
Police added that third party involvement in the blaze had been ruled out which they believe was started by an e – bike .
