Residents have tonight been ordered to close their doors and windows following a fire in a town centre.
Three crews dashed to Bournemouth International Centre on Exeter Road in the Dorset town, after reports of a blaze to the events venue. An aerial ladder platform has been used to help fight the blaze, which is understood to have started at around 7.30pm.
Smoke entered the building, which was not hosting an event tonight. It is, though, one of the largest venues for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment and events in southern England.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for more information. Firefighters remain at the scene in the early hours tonight.
