One shopper said the lamp has ‘changed my life’
The clocks go back this weekend, so the nights will get longer and the days darker. However, there are ways to alleviate the darkness and make the winter days more bearable as shoppers turn to a wake-up light.
Over at Amazon, shoppers can now get the Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 wake-up light alarm clock for £70.54 down from £99, saving them 29% in a limited-time deal. It marks its lowest in six months.
The light-up alarm clock helps ease dark mornings with a gradual 30-minute sunrise light that mimics the natural morning light to help peacefully wake users from their slumber. Plus, for the dark evenings, it also has a sunset setting that helps shoppers drift off to sleep as the light gradually dims over 30 minutes.

The gadget mimics the real colours of sunrises and sunsets for a natural glow that works alongside the human body clock. Many use it to help with their winter blues, and it’s said to help give users more energy and boost their mood.
There are other sunrise alarm clocks out there, for example, Dunelm’s Elements Light Up Alarm Clock for £25. This one comes in white, pink and black, is powered by included batteries, and brings a soft glow to dingy mornings.

Alternatively, Debenhams has the ValueLights Smart Sunrise Alarm Clock 2in1 With Wireless Charge for £42.99 down from £89.99. This one has gradual sunrise modes with customisable colours, dual alarms for weekday and weekend settings, voice control with Alexa and Google, and wireless charging functionality.
However, the Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 has plenty of fans at Amazon. One shopper said: “I’ve always been an early riser and never used to have an issue waking up in the darker, colder months. I blame getting old, but it’s become more difficult.
“I passed these off as a bit of a fad, a gimmick. I was wrong. This has changed my life. The set-up is really simple. Plug it in, set your alarms (with or without sound) and then just let it do its thing at waking you gently before it’s actually time to get up. And it does a great job at that.”
One user shared how it’s helped with winter: “Bought to help through winter blues and to help with early wake-ups in summer. Really helped to wake up easily so early.” Another said: “It has made waking up a lot easier, especially in the colder months.
“Any investment into improving sleep quality is well worth it!” A third added as part of a longer review: “Fantastic product. Just helps my mood – I hate dark mornings, but waking up to light somehow helps.”
That said, someone said they didn’t like the alarm sounds: “Waking up to a soft glow light has been very helpful getting up the past few darker mornings. I’m not a fan of the alarm sound setting, so I’ve turned that off and still use my phone alarm.”
Another said they weren’t sure if it was helping them: “I like the look of the clock and I really appreciate that the LED can go off in the night, as I really like total darkness. Sadly, the dawn light function hasn’t made any difference to my ability to wake up. Perhaps it will work better in the dark of winter.”
