A man’s body has been found in a “wooded area” of a park with police at the scene.
Police were called to King’s Park near Menock Road, in the south side of Glasgow this morning, February 14, where sadly a 39-year-old man was found dead.
It has been confirmed by police there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a report is to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson, reported GlasgowLive, said: “On the morning of Saturday, February 14, a 39-year-old man was found in a wooded area near Menock Road, Glasgow.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
There were also reports that the park entrance was closed off due to the investigation by police but it has since reopened. This morning the Friends of Kings Park Glasgow wrote on Facebook: “We’re hearing that Menock Road entrance is closed due to a police incident,” before confirming that it was accessible again for the public.
Meanwhile, police have issued a tragic update after a man was reported missing after last being seen in Asda. Gary Hill was reported missing on Monday, February 9 from East Lothian in Scotland. The 56-year-old was last seen at the Asda in Chesser at around 4.30pm that day.
On Thursday, police issued an urgent statement expressing growing concerns for his welfare and suggesting he may have travelled to East Lothian, possibly sleeping in his vehicle.
In a sad update, police discovered a body in the search for Gary at around 10.15pm on Thursday, February 12, near Cockburnspath, a small village in the Scottish Borders. Although formal identification is still pending, the family of Gary Hill has been notified, reports Edinburgh Live.
In their latest update, Police Scotland stated: “Around 10.15pm on Thursday, 12 February, 2026, the body of a man was found near Cockburnspath, East Lothian.
“Formal identification is yet to take place, however, the family of Gary Hill, 56, who was reported missing from the area on Monday, 9 February, 2026, has been informed. The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
