Shoppers can make savings of £40 by opting for the Simply Floating Shelf at B&M over the Floating Shelf at B&Q
B&M is selling a “stunning” floating shelf that could be “ideal” for your home at a bargain basement price. The discount retailer, renowned for its deals on big ticket items like wardrobes and side tables, has some shoppers excited with its latest offer – which is remarkably similar to an item currently on sale at B&Q.
The Simply Floating Shelf, available in oak, black and white, is available to view online on the B&M website, and shoppers can check which branch is selling it using the store finder. In the product description, the piece is described as a great option to showcase some important memorabilia.
It says: “A stunning feature shelf ideal for displaying family photo frames, ornaments, books and more, fully assembled. Colour: Oak, Material: Melamine with MDF/Metal, Weight: 1.90kg, Dimensions: 60 x 23.5 x 3.8cm, Max Loading Weight: 5kg”.
The £10 shelf could be a budget-friendly option for shoppers who are fans of the Floating Shelf at B&Q, but don’t want to spend over a tenner. B&Q’s option does come in various different sizes, specifically 150cm, 100cm, 70cm and 60cm, but prices do vary with the 50cm the cheapest at £50.
“This floating shelf is designed to give your home a timeless, classic look,” reads the product description on the B&Q website. “Handcrafted from beautiful solid oak, this floating oak shelf is strong and sturdy, making it an ideal choice for displaying books, photos, and other decorations.
“The natural grain of the oak gives this shelf an elegant look and feel, making it the perfect addition to any room. This oak floating shelf can be used throughout the home to add extra storage or a place to display your accessories.”
It continues: “Use them as oak kitchen shelves to store your plates, bowls or cups or in the living room to display your family photos. The benefit of adding oak floating shelves to your home is that the material is highly durable and will last for years to come, ensuring your shelf will remain as beautiful as the day you bought it.”
At a glance, both the B&M and B&Q items look almost identical. The only major difference, other than the price tag, is that the B&Q version is made of different material: oak, of which is better quality than B&M’s melamine with MDF.
Interested shoppers can view product images and find out more information about the Floating Shelf, such as how to arrange home delivery, on the B&Q website. Meanwhile, if you’d rather opt for the cheaper Simply Floating Shelf at B&M, you can do so on the B&M website – please note, it is subject to availability and is only available for in-store collection.
