Shoppers are rushing to their nearest B&M stores as the retailer has launched a new pumpkin-shaped cast iron casserole dish for just £18 – a whopping £281 cheaper than the Le Creuset version
Since being founded in France in 1925, the cookware brand Le Creuset has become somewhat of an iconic status symbol to have in your kitchen, as the brands pots, pans and cast iron dishes have been praised by professional and home cooks for several generations.
The items are often described being exceptionally durable, high-quality, attractive pieces that, when properly maintained, will stand the test of time. Should that not be the case, the brand also provides a lifetime warranty, enabling customers to receive a brand new replacement if their item breaks. Because of all of this, it’s no wonder that the brand’s stock often will set you back hundreds of pounds at a time if you choose to invest in a product – unless you manage to find one second hand.
If you don’t have the budget to spend for a Le Creuset product, don’t worry, as other brands provide similar products to a smaller price point – which includes B&M.
B&M’s cookware collection has often been compared to Le Creuset, as their vibrant cast iron pieces are frequently likened to the prestigious French brand in terms of looks and functionality.
But now, shoppers are once again flocking to their local B&M branches as the chain has introduced a brand new pumpkin-shaped casserole dish that bears a striking resemblance to a Le Creuset alternative, and it’s the perfect kitchen addition ahead of the colder, autumnal months.
B&M shoppers spot pumpkin cast iron on shelves
Taking to Instagram, an account that frequently showcases new food discoveries in supermarkets shared the various new products they’d spotted during a recent visit to B&M, which featured the orange-coloured casserole dish.
“Autumn has landed at @bm_stores,” they penned in the post, as they displayed photographs of the different items they’d uncovered, including the autumnal Le Creuset casserole dish.
The dish resembled an orange pumpkin complete with a lid, and boasted an eye-catching price tag of merely £18 per cast iron dish, which is £281 cheaper than Le Creuset. While food enthusiasts have long coveted Le Creuset’s autumnal casserole cast iron dish, which saw their classic item reimagined as an orange pumpkin, many may not have £299 to splash out on it.
Most of Le Creuset’s contemporary casserole dishes start from £174 and rise in price to £415, depending on the size and whether it’s part of a limited edition collection.
As a result, numerous other brands have produced similar-looking items at a lower price point for budget-conscious shoppers, and B&M is the latest to join the trend, with their orange pumpkin-shaped cast iron casserole dish bearing a striking resemblance to the designer version.
This isn’t the first time B&M shoppers have drawn comparisons between the store’s cookware and Le Creuset, as their vibrant cast iron pieces are frequently likened to the prestigious French brand.
Also in the Instagram post, the user went on to show off other autumnal products that had just landed in the popular store, including a smaller, purple cast-iron looking pot with lid for £4 each that would go perfect when serving up a side dish or a soup.
Other items also included an adorable adult-sized pyjamas with baked pastries on it, pumpkin-shaped ice cube moulds, scented candles, as well as multiple other pumpkin-themed kitchen items.
