Ten lucky people will be made millionaires before the end of 2024, and according to previous winners, those with certain jobs are more likely than others to cash in with a win
The National Lottery has created a whopping 383 millionaires this year but there’s still a chance to win big before the New Year rings in.
The winners of 2024 have so far shared £848 million between them, and this year also marked the milestone of £50 billion raised for good causes. So before you start singing Auld Lang Syne and necking your prosecco, make sure you check your Lottery ticket as there will be 10 more millionaires made before the end of 2024.
We’d all love to be able to predict the future – and the right Lottery numbers – but what makes our chances more likely? It turns out that you might increase your luck if you work in some ‘lucky’ professions, have a certain star sign, or pick certain numbers.
There was an average of 70 high tier prizes won each month this year, and a total of 846 prizes worth more than £50,000 won by Lottery participants. And according to the numbers from 2024’s winning tickets so far, builders were the “luckiest” profession, while healthcare workers came in at second.
When it comes to looking at the stars for some fate, it seems Geminis were the luckiest star sign, while Cancers came in at second and Libras at third. If you really want to crunch the numbers, it seems as if number 11 was the luckiest, appearing 16 times, followed by 48, 25, 19 and 3. The least drawn balls were 55, 30 and 46.
This year saw the UK’s third biggest-ever win, as one lucky Brit cashed in a staggering £177 million EuroMillions jackpot. The anonymous winner won the draw on November 26. Meanwhile, Richard and Debbie Nuttall, from Lancashire, discovered they had won a £61 million EuroMillions jackpot while on holiday in Fuerteventura in January.
