An investigation has been launched after a man and woman, both aged 90, tragically died in a house fire in north London.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to a blaze at a semi-detached house on Albemarle Road, Barnet, at 1.44am. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were dispatched to tackle the fire. A man and a woman were removed from the property by firefighters and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Firefighters had brought the incident under control by 3.14am, the LFB added. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
