Iceland’s five for £15 BBQ deal includes a range of family favourites, with offers also available on picky bits and easy teas
It’s an unwritten rule that, when there’s good weather forecast for the Bank Holiday weekend, a BBQ is non-negotiable – but feeding the extended family can often prove pricey. Ahead of the long weekend, Iceland has launched a limited-time deal that could seriously cut the cost of feeding a crowd.
The supermarket’s latest payday and Bank Holiday event is now live online, with shoppers able to mix and match across multiple ranges. One of the offers includes a five for £15 BBQ essentials deal , which can save up to £7.50 on a basket for those who can shop savvy.
Even better? There’s also a £9 off £60 basket code that can be stacked on top. That means customers could use the five for £15 deal four times to stock the freezer and get around £90 worth of food for £51.
Customers who spend over £60 can use the code ICE9OFF60 to get £9 off. However, it’s worth noting that this discount is only available to new customers making their first online order with Iceland.
As part of the five for £15 mix-and-match, customers can pick up a selection of BBQ meats, working out at £3 per item (or less with the extra discount). The key to maximise savings here is to check out the higher value products included in the offer, many of which are priced at £4 or £4.50.
5 for £15
Iceland is offering 5 for £15 on a range of BBQ essentials ahead of the Bank Holiday
Among the top picks are the Iceland Extra Thin Garlic & Herb Chicken Sizzle Steaks 450g, which usually cost £4. As part of the deal, the seven steaks at an average of £3 work out at 43p each. This would drop even lower with the £9 off £60 shop voucher.
One shopper hailed them as ‘very tasty’, while another added: “I loved these. They are cut thinly so they cook quickly. I did them in the air fryer 6 minutes then turn, another 6 minutes. Delicious.”
“Really delicious. Nice and tender, cooks quickly. Will definitely be stocking up,” said a third. However some found they took a while to cook through, which isn’t ideal when you’ve got guests waiting, commenting: “Cook better than the barbecue version. A lot of flavour but very thin and still took a while to cook through.”
Meanwhile, the usually £4.50 Iceland BBQ Chicken Drumsticks 1kg are another standout, with shoppers praising: “Very Juicy. Smell is great. Quite big drumsticks. Very tender. Very good value for the money.”
“Excellent value and tasty chicken Get plenty in the bag as well I do mine in the slow cooker and the meat just falls off the bone,” another added.
A third said: “These were a hit with my son and I, they are far better than Tesco’s equivalent. Meaty drumsticks with a very good flavour. Will be a regular on my list from now on.”
If both of these items were added to a basket with three more of Iceland’s £4.50 options, that would amount to £22 worth of food for £15, saving £7 before any extra discounts are applied.
Elsewhere, at MuscleFood , shoppers who buy one of their meat hampers can get for ‘free’. The brand explained: “when you buy one Hero Meat Hamper, you’ll get four extra hampers completely free – packed with premium cuts, family favourites and unbeatable variety.” The cost of the hamper is £69, and stars a selection of items such as chicken breasts, sirloin steaks, beef steak mince, and more.
At Ocado , M&S is offering a buy any three for £12 deal on meat items which are priced between £5 and £5.50 each.
Back at Iceland , the BBQ offer is just one part of retailer’s wider promotions, which also includes 15 for £15 Easy Teas, which is an upgrade of their popular 10 for £10 deal, as well as six for £10 on picky bits. These multi-buy deals are designed to help shoppers stock up for gatherings, parties or easy weeknight meals, all while keeping costs down.
If you’re planning to fire up the grill this weekend, Iceland’s combination of multi-buy savings and stackable discounts could be one of the cheapest ways to do it.
