‘We think our new plant-based cafeteria is a first and proves that there’s another way to do things’
Ecotricity has launched what it claims to be the UK’s first fully plant-based canteen at its workplace.
The energy firm said launching the canteen aligns with its commitment to fighting climate change, safeguarding nature and promoting health through diet. Employees in Stroud, Gloucestershire are now enjoying plant-based meals, with plans afoot to introduce breakfast offerings.
Founder Dale Vince said: “We think our new plant-based cafeteria is a first and proves that there’s another way to do things.”
He further enthused, “Plant-based eating can be affordable, healthy, tasty, and good for the planet. The future is plant-based, and the sooner we get there, the better for us all.”
Mr Vince is also chairman of Forest Green Rovers football club – which serves an all-vegan menu to players, fans and staff.
