A popular baby product has been recalled as its presents ‘a risk of serious harm’ to infants – this is a breaking story
A popular baby product has been recalled as its presents “a risk of serious harm” to infants.
Baby self-feeding pillows or prop feeders have been recalled by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS). The product recall was first issued on November 30, 2022, but was updated on Thursday to add the “OPSS Risk Summary and classification of risk as ‘serious'”.
“Baby self-feeding pillows are designed to enable babies to bottle feed without the assistance or supervision of a caregiver,” the OPSS says, adding that this is “inconsistent with NHS guidance in relation to safe bottle feeding”.
The government agency warns this “creates a risk of serious harm or death” from “choking on the feed” and “aspiration pneumonia”.
