Maggie May Ann Moody died after she was attacked by a suspected pocket bully-type dog at a home in Redcar, North Yorkshire

A baby girl who was killed after being attacked by a suspected pocket bully-type dog has been named for the first time.

Maggie May Ann Moody died inside a house in Redcar, North Yorkshire, on April 9 – just a day before she would have turned three months old, an inquest heard.

During a short two-minute hearing, Teesside area coroner Paul Appleton said the provisional cause of the baby’s death was recorded as “head injury”.

The infant was pronounced dead at Middlesbrough’s James Cook university hospital, with her body identified two days later by her grandmother, Michelle Scott, the court was told.
