Kendamil infant milk has also been pulled from shelves at B&M – here is everything you need to know

Two baby formula brands including Aptamil have been recalled at B&M over fears some products may contain expired milk.

Kendamil infant milk has also been pulled from shelves. B&M has warned shoppers to “not use” the products due to a “date-related” issue. The products have an expiry date of October 8 on the label and were recalled last month.

The items that have been recalled are:

In a recall notice on the B&M website, published last month, a statement reads: “If you have purchased either of these products with an expiry date of 08/10 or earlier, please do not use the product.

“Please return the product to your local store immediately. A replacement or refund will be provided. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

“For further assistance, please contact your local store team. If you have any further questions, please contact customer services – 0330 838 9000.”

A spokesperson for Danone UK & Ireland said: “Danone UK & Ireland was made aware that out-of-date Aptamil First Infant Milk Powders and Follow-On Milk ready-to-drink liquids were discounted by B&M.

“The quality and safety of our products is our number one priority to ensure parents can rely on them with confidence and these products should not have been sold.

“In the UK, formula milk is highly regulated and we comply with these regulations. We have a strict global policy for Baby Formula Marketing Standards, which all our employees, brands and retail customers must adhere to.

“This standard prohibits discounts on infant formula. Once made aware, we contacted B&M and the retailer removed out-of-date product and marketing materials immediately.”

For other product recalls, you can check the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Chartered Trading Standards (CTS) Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they’ve pulled a product from shelves.

It comes after Amazon recalled a children’s swim vest over fears it could pose a “serious risk of drowning”. The Petiyark Neoprene Swim Vest was assessed as being dangerous for children as the buoyancy aid has “conflicting minimum or maximum sizing limits”.

Additionally, the swim vest was described as being difficult to spot in the water due to having “no bright, conspicuous colours” present.

The product was also not supplied with the required documentation to be used correctly. The Office for Product Safety and Standards says the swim vest does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment.
