Not many shoppers are aware of the online giant’s outlet that sells a variety of tech devices for a lot less
Buying a new phone, laptop or tablet can be an incredibly pricey investment, however Amazon has a useful site that allows you to snap up a variety of devices for less. Amazon Renewed offers ‘expertly refurbished products at great prices’ which have all been vetted beforehand to ensure ‘top quality’.
This lesser-known section of the online giant’s website sells second-hand products that have been refurbished for affordable prices, allowing shoppers to save big on many high-end brands. Along with phones, laptops and tablets, customers will find cameras, game consoles, smart watches, cooking gadgets and many more tech products.
Each item has been professionally inspected, tested, and cleaned by Amazon-qualified suppliers. If shoppers are not fully satisfied with the product, they have one year to return it for a replacement or refund.

The aim of Amazon Renewed is to extend the lifetime of a device and keep it out of landfills. The product will be restored to its original factory settings and will be in one of the following cosmetic conditions; Premium, Excellent, Good or Acceptable – very similar categories laid out by rivals like Back Market.
All renewed purchases come with the accessories that shipped with the new product. Amazon says they may not be original but will be ‘compatible and fully functional’.
Some of the deals currently listed on Amazon Renewed are considerably cheaper than if you were to buy the product new. The Apple iPhone SE 3rd Gen 64GB costs £168.38 for a refurbished option, whereas the brand-new phone is £429 at Argos.
It’s worth noting that some renewed products take a while to be shipped. For example, the refurbished Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max 128GB that costs £686.90 is ‘usually dispatched within six to seven months’ – which is a huge wait, so there’s definitely some downsides to the cheaper price.
Other items are available to ship right away, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 which is priced at £109.99 for an ‘excellent’ refurbished option. This tablet has since been discontinued, making Amazon Renewed one of the few places you can still buy it.
