If you’re struggling with the intense heatwave hitting the UK this tall standing tower fan is the perfect solution to keep living rooms and bedrooms cool – and it’s now under £65
We’re currently in the midst of one of the hottest UK heatwaves on record which means we’re all sweltering at home and trying to keep cool. A fan is the obvious choice to help keep you cool, and one that we’ve spotted that’s worth snapping up is the Midea 40” Tower Fan .
Currently reduced in the Amazon Prime Day sale, the fan is tall enough to blow cool air over sofas and beds to help reduce the heat both day and night, making it ideal for using during the summer. Usually it’s priced at £86.84 on Amazon, but it’s now available for just £63.99, saving you more than £20 during the Prime Day sale.
Portable £25 neck fan that’s ‘not noisy’ is a must-have for keeping cool on your commute in the heatwave

Standing at 40 inches tall, the height of the fan means that you can stand it beside your sofa or at the end of your bed and it’ll still reach you without having to find a surface to stand it on. The Midea 40” Tower Fan also comes in 45 inch and 60 inch versions, both of which are also on sale – the 45 inch one is down from £93.49 to £89.99, whilst the 60 inch one is now £104.99 down from £110.49.
Despite its tall height, the Midea 40” Tower Fan still has a slimline design which means it won’t take up lots of space in your room and measures just 27.5cm deep and wide. It still, however, ensures a wide and powerful air flow and has a 90 degree oscillating setting which lets the air reach every corner of your room, even if it’s a large space.
It also comes with a remote control so you can operate it without getting out of bed or off the sofa, with the remote able to change everything from speed settings to the timer. You can choose from four different speed settings, two modes (auto and normal) and there’s a seven hour timer you can set up to be used overnight.
To make sure it improves your sleep, rather than keeping you up, the Midea 40” Tower Fan has a quiet design that operates at just 28dB. You can also easily keep it clean as it has an easy detachable design (that doesn’t involve unscrewing anything) and can be washed without touching any electronic components.
It’s quietness was backed up by Amazon shoppers, with one saying: “Quite tall and works really well flow of air is great..very quiet compared to other oscillating fans I have had in the past..well made and easy to put together..timer is an added bonus. It’s a little heavy to move around or carry upstairs.”
Elsewhere, you can pick up the slightly smaller 32″ White Tower Fan at Dunelm for just £30, whilst if you prefer a more traditional style, Next’s Grey Malvern Pedestal Fan is £58 and has a traditional bladed design with two colour options available.
If you want something a bit more adaptable, this AirFlo™ 43″ Hybrid Pedestal Fan is £109.99 from ProBreeze and can be altered to different heights. It extends from a small, compact desk height up to the same height as your countertops, making it ideal for using in every room.
