A string of high-end hair styling devices from ghd have been reduced
Amazon and Ghd (Good Hair Day) have both launched a host of online offers with flash sales on salon-quality styling devices. Ghd is a leading brand for hair tools, and you’ll often find them sold in salons, as well as places like LookFantastic or John Lewis, to name a few.
Amazon has reduced a number of the brand’s styling tools as part of its Spring Deals Days event, while Ghd has also launched its own online sale. We’ve compared the two bonanzas to find the bigger savings.
First up, we have the Original Hair Straightener & Styler (RRP £139). At Amazon, it’s on sale for £99, while on Ghd, it is offered for £124 – making Amazon’s plummet-price cheaper by £25. The straightener has seen a tech upgrade recently and promises beautiful, lasting results with no extreme heat.

The Original Hair Straightener & Styler is an Amazon top-seller with thousands of reviews. One buyer wrote: “Amazing straightener, it can curl and do everything. Perfect and lasted nearly a year now.”
A second was not as pleased, saying: “I don’t think the quality is as good as the original ones I bought over 108 years ago. They feel cheap and aren’t as smooth through the hair.”
A third added: “Forgot how good these are. Heats up really quick and leaves hair looking really healthy and not frizzy.”
Of course, much cheaper straighteners are available, including this BaByliss Hydro Fusion Anti Frizz Hair Straightener, which is half price on Lookfantastic. The device is worth £100 but can be snapped up for £50 for a limited time.
Next, in our Amazon and GHD sale comparison, we have the Air Hair Dryer (worth £139), which is again on sale at both retailers. Amazon’s sale price is around £20 cheaper, with the online marketplace offering it for £89.99 and GHD offering it for £109.
The powerful hairdryer promises to completely dry your hair in a few minutes. It’s a worthy styling tool for customers with long or thick hair, and Amazon shoppers share this testament with more than 6,000 ratings and reviews.
“I love this Ghd hairdryer. It’s not too heavy and dries my hair a lot faster than my old one. It comes with really nice accessories. Really please with my purchase,” one shopper said.
However, a second found the hairdryer too heavy, writing: “Unfortunately, I sent this back as I found the weight of it too heavy for me.”
A third buyer added: “Super Ghd quality but is heavier and bigger than you think. It has all the attachments that you need and good tamp settings.
“Great speed settings and isn’t too noisy. A great functional product which will last.”
Shark is another brand that sells salon-grade hair styling tools. Its SpeedStyle Pro Hair Dryer is on sale for £159.99, down from £179.99, which saves prospective buyers £20.
Lastly, we have the Ghd Rise Volumising Hot Brush, worth a cool £179. Amazon’s sale price is cheaper, with the retailer reducing it to £139.99 and Ghd slashing it to £149.
The bristle brush is designed to help beauty fans achieve a voluminous, bouncy blowdry at home. It also has a built-in sleep mode, automatically switching off the device after 30 minutes.
On the Ghd website, a review said: “So easy to use and gives a lovely curl or volume to the hair. I would recommend.”
A second was not as pleased, saying: “I bought this two weeks ago and have tried endless times, but it, unfortunately, does not curl hair very well.
“The hair loses the little curl within an hour. Super disappointed, especially after watching Ghd videos showing how it should work.”
A third shopper concluded, ” I wanted to try this for ages and can say it doesn’t disappoint! It’s super easy to use.”
Alternatively, Revlon’s One Step Volumiser Classic Hair Styler is a budget option. It’s also on sale right now at Currys for £29.99, originally £49.99.
