The supermarket often has a new selection of items available for shoppers to browse through
The middle aisle of Aldi supermarkets is a popular spot among many shoppers across the UK, who often manage to snag an unexpected bargain during their weekly shopping trip. Every week, the supermarket updates its SpecialBuy offerings to give customers something new to look forward to on a regular basis.
However, Christmas means the usual routine of middle aisle deals has to be changed. With Christmas Day falling on a Thursday, regular Aldi bargain hunters might be confused about how this affects the supermarket’s middle zone.
As the big celebration falls right in the middle of the usual Thursday refresh, bosses have confirmed a changed schedule of when to expect more offers. An Aldi spokesperson said: “The next Specialbuy release is scheduled for Sunday, December 28, so we’ll see new stock landing after the Christmas period.
“For the following week, Specialbuys will be released on Friday, January 2, and Sunday, January 4.” With no further festive bank holiday disruptions, normal SpecialBuy releases are expected to resume from Thursday, January 8. People can stay up to date on planned releases by looking online here.
Aldi will be adding a selection of cleaning and storage solutions on Sunday, December 28 – ideally timed after festive visitors and extra presents needing new homes. Highlights include a 42L Touch Bin (£12.99), Spray Mop Set (£9.99) and Hotel Collection Reed Diffusers (all £2.49) in a range of scents (Coconut and Vanilla, Strawberry and Magnolia, and Honeysuckle and Cedarwood).
For those needing to upgrade or increase their storage solutions at home, the middle aisle will be packed with options starting from £4.99. Aldi claims that the 42L Underbed Storage (£4.99) can help “clear away the Christmas clutter and start the New Year tidy”.
Pack even more away in the huge 80L Storage Box (£5.99). And, shoppers can organise any clutter, clothes, towels, toys, bedding and more with this 4-Drawer Tower (£12.99).
Aldi has confirmed that all UK stores will shut down over the Christmas period for three days. As well as December 25, shoppers won’t be able to shop on Boxing Day (December 26) and New Year’s Day (January 1).
Rebecca Heley, communications director at Aldi UK, said: “Christmas is a special time, and we want to ensure all of our colleagues have the opportunity to relax and enjoy it with their loved ones. That’s why all Aldi stores will be closed on Boxing Day this year.
“We know how hard colleagues work to deliver an amazing Christmas for our customers. This is one small way of saying thank you.”
Leading up to Christmas, Aldi bosses confirmed that its opening hours will vary, with longer times in place to ensure customers can stock up with plenty of time to spare before the festive celebration. People should check online what this means for their local branch.
