The new Aldi perfume is being compared to Victoria Beckham’s high-end brand’s £245 scents – and costs just £9.99 for a 100ml bottle
Aldi shoppers are dashing to the middle aisle to grab the store’s latest “gorgeous” Victoria Beckham-inspired fragrance. As part of Aldi’s beauty range, Lacura, the supermarket has launched a new Classic Italia Eau de Parfum.
The scent, priced at £9.99 for a 100ml bottle, has sparked excitement among perfume lovers on social media. Enthusiasts in the Aldi Shoppers UK group on Facebook have been raving that the new perfume “lasts throughout the day” and smells “incredible”.
Some even claim the £9.99 fragrance “is identical” to Victoria Beckham’s luxe brand’s Portofino’97 aroma. Yet, the designer scent comes with a hefty £245 price tag – meaning Aldi customers could save a staggering £235, reports Lancs Live.
In the Facebook group, a user named Jojo posted a photo of the £10 scent, commenting: “Honestly I have all the Aldi perfumes but this is my fav! Meant to be [an alternative] of Victoria Beckham Portofino that sells for £170 for 50mls! This was £9.99 for 100ml and it has lasted on me all day! I even love the bottle! Back tomorrow for another!”
When asked in the comments if it really lasted all day and if it smelled nice, Jojo responded: “Honestly it did last all day! It’s a very unique smell! Perfume is very individual and I don’t like floral or sweet but this is just gorgeous! Love it! ” Another member chimed in: “It lasted all day on me too!!”
Another fan added: “I bought my daughter the original and wore my Aldi yesterday and it smells identical.” Someone else said: “I love this one.” Jayne commented: “I have the yellow and the gold, love them both! stays on all day as well!”
The £9.99 price tag offers a whopping 96% saving (£235) compared to its luxury counterpart. Aldi’s Lacura range has three £9.99 options: Golden Coast Eau de Parfum, Classic Italia Eau de Parfum, and Allure Blanc Eau de Parfum.
Golden Coast features notes of passion fruit, saffron, rose, jasmine, agarwood, and black amber that “create an irresistible aura perfect for the festive season”. In contrast, Victoria Beckham’s San Ysidro Drive eau de parfum costs £245 for 100ml.
Classic Italia boasts an “evocative blend” of calabrian bergamot, black pepper, amber, musk, vetiver, and patchouli, drawing comparisons to Victoria Beckham’s Portfoino’97 scent. Allure Blanc combines scents of black cherry, red pepper, violet, rose, black leather, and tobacco, leaving a lasting impression, with shoppers noting its similarity to Victoria Beckham’s Suite 302 perfume.
Aldi’s popular beauty brand, Lacura, has also welcomed a brand-new Silky Kajal Eyeliner (£2.49, 1.2g) to its line-up – just in time for Christmas party season. Victoria Beckham’s viral Satin Kajal Liner is a TikTok sensation with over 1.3 million views, Aldi’s offering is available in two autumnal shades of ‘Dark Chestnut’ and ‘Matte Black’.
