The festive treat is going to be available for a fraction of the festive market prices
Christmas markets are known for having a range of delicious food options, with one item usually stealing the show. But, shoppers at Aldi will soon be able to have the same experience from the comfort of their own home – and for a fraction of the price.
The popular festive side became the star of its own dish when the humble Yorkshire Pudding was flattened and used as a wrap to hold all the festive trimmings that usually go on a roast dinner. But most market stalls would charge a small fortune for these dishes, with some costing upwards of £10 each.
Aldi has stepped in with its own version for a fraction of the cost. The Specially Selected Yorkshire Pudding Wrap will be arriving in stores soon.
Priced at £3.49, the all-in-one alternative to a festive roast dinner offers the perfect Christmas fix. The meal is made with British turkey, pork sausage and bacon, layered with stuffing and cranberry sauce.
The wrap is a crispy Yorkshire pudding and served with a gravy dip. People will be able to get their hands on a wrap from November 26.
The wrap joins Aldi’s full festive sandwich range in stores now, including the new Specially Selected Honey Roast Gammon Ham & Christmas Slaw Bloomer (£2.75), Christmas Club Sandwich (£2.59) and Specially Selected Beef Wellington (£2.75).
In other Aldi news, shoppers have been reminded about an upcoming closure of every store in the UK for three days later this year. Aldi has announced that all its UK stores will be closed during part of the festive period.
The supermarket giant confirmed it will shut its doors on Christmas Day and won’t reopen until Saturday, December 27, to allow staff “the chance to spend time with friends and family”. Shops will also remain closed on New Year’s Day, reopening as normal on Friday, January 2, 2026.
In the run-up to Christmas, Aldi said its opening hours will fluctuate, with extended operating times in place to ensure shoppers can fill their baskets ahead of the big day. Aldi has been named the cheapest supermarket 22 times in the last 24 months, according to Which? analysis, but fell slightly short in recent tests.
People opt for the discount store in an effort to save money due to the constantly rising cost of food. The analysis put one shopping list of 70 different items to the test.
At Lidl, the items cost an average of £120.46 in October, or £120.38 for members of its loyalty scheme, Lidl Plus. The price of an identical shop at Aldi cost £121 on average – meaning it was up to 62p more expensive.
