Aldi has announced a new round of price cuts on over 200 products.
The discounts have been introduced on everyday items, from fresh and frozen food and cupboard staples to household essentials and personal care products.
Some of the reductions Aldi shoppers will find include 50p off selected fresh British beef steaks, including 30 Day Matured British Rump Steak (now £4.69), 30 Day Matured British Sirloin Steak (now £5.99) and 28 Day Matured British Fillet Steak (now £6.79).
Aldi has also dropped prices on its Gianni Ice Cream Lollies and Watermelon Fruit Lollies – both reduced from £1.99 to £1.79, along with its Ice Cream Cookies (now £1.95).
Beers, wines and spirits reductions include New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (now £6.99) and its Aperini Spritz 4-Pack (now £5.49). Aldi’s Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion is also reduced from £3.49 to £3.29.
So far this year, Aldi has invested over £200million in price cuts, including £60million of reductions introduced this week. However, customers should always still shop around for the best prices, as just because something has been reduced, it doesn’t mean you can’t still get it cheaper elsewhere.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “Now more than ever, we know that customers are looking to manage their budgets for the weekly shop, which is why we’re constantly reviewing prices across our range.
“These latest price reductions cover hundreds of everyday products and offer great value without compromising on quality.”
Waitrose has lowered prices on over 160 own-brand products as part of a new £20million investment to help shoppers save money. Prices have been reduced by an average of 12% from today, with some everyday items cut by more than 25%.
Some of the items that have been cut include stapes such as free range eggs, onions, chicken thighs, apples, frozen peas, chickpeas and chopped tomatoes.
Almost half (47%) of the reductions are on products from the Essential Waitrose range. The move marks the ninth round of New Lower Prices since 2023, taking Waitrose’s total investment to £162.5million across more than 1,000 products.
In more supermarket news, grocery price inflation slowed again this month as consumers brace themselves for the fallout from the Middle East crisis.
Supermarket prices were 3.1% higher than a year ago in May, down from 3.8% in April and 4.3% in March, figures from Worldpanel by Numerator show.
