Bring ‘effortless style’ to bedrooms with the B&M furniture piece
Homeowners looking to update the look and feel of their bedrooms on a budget may consider an affordable table that looks like it’s worth far more than its B&M price tag suggests. It could pass as something more expensive from a well-known retailer.
The Arlo Two Drawer Bedside Table is available in B&M stores for £35. Online, B&M said: “Bring style and modern textures into your bedroom with the Arlo Two Drawer Bedside Table. With a natural oak finish and slatted design, this bedside table brings effortless style and practicality to your space.”
The store claims the bedside table makes the “perfect spot” to set up a lamp, alarm clock or other decorative pieces to boost the look and practicality of bedrooms. Shoppers who like this style may also find the matching Arlo Four Drawer Chest (£80) a worthwhile investment for extra storage.
The Arlo Bedside Table looks a lot like another, more expensive piece of homeware from Very. Selling for £79 (down from £99), the Very Collection Harlow Two Drawer Bedside Table has a few similarities to the bargain version.
Very wrote online: “ This modern chest of drawers from the Harlow range by The Very Collection is all about the eye-catching grooves to the drawer fronts which create a stylish slatted look. In a realistic oak-effect, it’s detailed with black metal lip handles and black metal legs for an industrial edge.”
The biggest difference to consider is the product’s price. Even when discounted to £79, B&M shoppers could save almost £45 compared to buying from Very.
Both units have a natural oak finish and a slatted design, with Very’s having wider panels than B&M’s version. Each set of drawers has a very similar handle system, and both sit on black metallic legs.
B&M’s unit is slightly smaller (54cm tall, 40cm wide, 35cm deep) than Very’s table, which measures 59cm tall, 45cm wide, and 40cm deep. Knowing these dimensions may help shoppers decide whether the cheaper version will fit better in smaller spaces.
Homeware can be expensive when upgrading rooms around the home. This is why some shoppers may be fans of budget options that are available at stores like B&M and Home Bargains.
One other example of this is the deal on curtains at Home Bargains. The discount chain has an £8 offer on its Home Collections Blackout Single Curtain, which looks very similar to a more expensive Dunelm version costing £17 more.
Elsewhere, shoppers may get a better deal when picking up B&M’s ‘modern’ £30 table set that looks similar to just one £90 piece sold at Argos. The discount store claimed that the set of tables would be perfectly suited to being “side tables or lamp tables”.
