The busy commuter road is closed after a serious crash.
The A1 in Bedfordshire is closed northbound between the A1(M)/A507 and the A6001 Biggleswade (north).
A car left the carriageway and struck a tree at approximately 7.30pm on Monday, February 2.
Bedfordshire Police and emergency services are at the scene.
The closure is expected to be in place for several hours as collision investigation work is carried out.
