Great North Run 2026: Biggest field in history with £500,000 charity goal in its sights

The Great North Run has raised more than £450m for charity since 1981, and that figure is likely to rise to half a billion pounds. The event already holds the world record as the biggest half marathon in history, and will set a new record this year.
