A four-year-old boy has been hit by a car in a seaside town sparking a major emergency services response.
Officers from Merseyside Police were called at around 4.55pm on Monday to a report that a child had been struck by a car on the Promenade in the town centre. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the boy was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Craig Alexander Murray, who was in the area at the time, captured footage of an air ambulance landing at nearby King’s Gardens, although he said the child was taken to hospital in a standard ambulance.
Mr Murray told the Liverpool Echo that three police cars attended the scene, along with adults who were with the child.
