Four crews of firefighters are at the scene tonight, battling a fire in the trees at the popular park
Firefighters are tonight battling a blaze at an adventure play park in the West Midlands. Members of the public have been warned to ‘stay away’ from Meriden Park in Chelmsley Wood this evening.
The West Midlands Fire Service warned the public about the blaze just before 8.30pm tonight (August 1). Four crews of firefighters are at the scene tonight battling a fire in the trees at the popular park, reports BirminghamLive.
West Midlands Fire Service wrote: “We have four crews in attendance at Meriden Park, Chelmsley Wood, Solihull where they have responded to a fire in the trees. Please avoid the area, where possible.”
As well as a large natural lake, and natural woodland, Meriden Adventure Playground is a leading adventure play facility. It has a large children’s play area, skate park and football pitch, and is operated by an independent charity.
It hosts a number of community events throughout the year and is popular during the school holidays.
