Want to elevate your beach look? Snap up these timeless pieces from M&S, with pricing from £30, says acting fashion lead Antonia
After years of overpacking for holidays, I’ve finally got the art of packing into hand luggage down to an art. And while I’ll always make sure to pack old favourites, I can’t help but add a few new things to my suitcase. This summer, there’s only one shop that I’m heading to for a wardrobe refresh and that’s Marks & Spencer.
The high street hero has had a surge in the style stakes in recent seasons, with many millenials now declaring it as ‘the New Topshop’ and it’s not hard to see why – from the sell-out red funnel neck jacket earlier this summer to on-trend silky shorts as well as fantastic staples such as well cut cotton t-shirts, M&S has quickly become the one stop shop you need.
As I’m heading on a beach holiday, I naturally need a new swimsuit – while I love Farm Rio’s palm print monochrome style, it’s slightly out of my budget but M&S have saved my credit card with this eye catching palm print hero swimsuit, a steal at only £38.

Not only can you remove the straps to make this stylish swimsuit a bandeau, it also features clever tummy control to help you look and feel your best on holiday.
Whereas once I went for beach coverups, these days I’ve swapped kaftans for a lightweight linen shirt, £40. I like to size up so that I can wear it as a cover up to the pool or beach.
It’ll also work well teamed with a pair of lightweight satin trousers, £30, for a casual yet stylish look for evenings.
Another item that I always pack is a slip-style dress like this gorgeous sage green satin scoop midaxi, £50. The bias cut is a flattering shape that will skim your figure without clinging.
This style of dress can easily be dressed up with statement jewellery such as a pair of chandelier earrings for evenings or dressed down with a crossbody bag for day trips.
And it’s not just for holidays – once the weather cools, try styling it with chunky boots and an oversized jumper or add a thin long sleeve cotton t-shirt underneath.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a holiday without a new pair of sandals – look those nights where you can’t be bothered to accessorise, these gold hammered coin sandals, £40, will add a stylish finishing touch to your look.
Pack these essentials and you’ll be stepping out in style on your summer holiday, we promise.
