Samsung has added the Z Flip8 and Z Fold8 to its unique foldable phone line-up and Sky Mobile is giving away a £350 smartwatch
Samsung has unveiled a new addition to its Galaxy smartwatch series and one retailer is giving it away for free. On Wednesday (July 22), the South Korean tech giant announced the Galaxy Watch9, touted as ‘the ultimate everyday health companion’.
The powerful gadget has been given a boost in speed and efficiency thanks to Snapdragon’s Wear Elite platform, alongside a long-lasting battery, lightweight aluminium casing, and a wealth of Galaxy AI features.Samsung is taking pre-orders from £349 ahead of its August 7 release, but a new deal lets shoppers get it for free at Sky Mobile.
The retailer is dishing out the Galaxy Watch9 at no extra cost when customers pre-order either one of the foldable phones from Samsung’s latest Z Series. This includes the Z Flip8, Z Fold8 and the super-powerful Z Fold8 Ultra.
Monthly prices for the new devices start at £38, £46 and £51 respectively, plus a £12 upfront cost to get the ball rolling. Sky’s mobile contracts run for 36 months, with the option to upgrade at no extra cost after 24 months.
They also include a 100MB data allowance, but heavier users should consider opting for a larger bundle, such as 75GB for £14 (was £23). Anyone ordering one of these phones by August 26 will automatically receive their free Galaxy Watch9 within 30 days of receiving their new device.

Sky Mobile is giving away a free Samsung Galaxy Watch9 when shoppers order any one of the free phones in the new foldable Z Series.
Shoppers opting for the Z Flip8 will receive a free 40mm black model worth £349, while the Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra come with the larger 44mm black model worth £379. To offset the cost of the package, Sky Mobile will also pay customers who trade in an old phone an extra £300 in bill credit on top of the value offered.
For looking for more affordable packages, Mobiles.co.uk will knock £50 off the upfront cost of each new Samsung model with the code SAVE50. This reduces the Z Flip 8 to £35.99 and £19 upfront on iD Mobile’s 100GB tariff, while the Z Fold8 drops to £56.99 and £19 upfront on the same plan.
Customers preferring to buy outright to avoid committing to a contract can pre-order the new Z Series from Amazon. They’re not cheap though, with prices starting at £1,149, £1,699 and £1,899 for each model.
As for the Galaxy Watch9, the experts at Android Central have already had their hands on the new device and hailed it a ‘much-needed upgrade’. “The Galaxy Watch9 is here and debuts Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon chip for wearables,” they said. “This upgrade alone should unlock features like better battery life, new on-device AI capabilities, and better all-around performance.
“It also has a larger battery, which should fix our biggest gripe with the Watch8.” However, they also pointed out that not much has changed in terms of design, as the Watch9 looks ‘almost identical’ to its predecessor. Despite this, they continued: “A much-needed upgrade.
“The Watch9 changes just a few things, but they are very important things. The new SoC and larger battery should allow you to enjoy the new features for longer, between charges.
“The Watch9 doesn’t reinvent the squircle by any means, but upgrades to the processor and battery capacity make it that much better. The new on-device AI features, snappier responses from Gemini and more usage hours between charges are all nice things to have.”
