B&M has made a major change in a number of its stores across the UK and customers are very happu
We’ve all been there – you nip into B&M for just a couple of bits, only to find yourself halfway around the store with your arms absolutely full, desperately wishing you had grabbed a basket on the way in. By that point, the entrance feels like a mile away, and the only options are to make a very undignified waddle back or attempt a juggling act all the way to the checkout.
Then comes the awkward shuffle to the checkout, juggling your haul and praying nothing tumbles to the floor while you queue.
B&M has clearly clocked this all-too-familiar shopping habit and has now introduced a significant change in-store to lend customers a helping hand.
What significant change has B&M made in their UK stores?
B&M unveiled the new development in a video posted on TikTok, revealing that baskets will now be positioned at the end of aisles in the middle of the store, rather than solely at the entrance.
Shoppers are already hailing the move as an absolute “game changer”, with the discount retail giant proudly showing off the update on social media.
They cheekily highlighted the change by sharing a video set to the trending audio of a famous ad-lib from Beyoncé, in which she describes recording the track “Partition”.
The video was captioned: “when we decided to put baskets in the middle of the aisles”.
While customers clearly adored the decision to add baskets mid-store, one shopper urged the retailer to take things a step further.
They said: “Now just need a couple of trolleys too, when the decision to upgrade from basket to trolley is made.”
The B&M team replied “Working on it” with a laughing crying emoji. Founded in 1978, B&M has grown to become one of Britain’s most prominent variety retailers.
Starting out with a single store in Blackpool, Lancashire, the company has since expanded to more than 700 outlets across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, employing upwards of 35,000 members of staff.
The retailer is currently headquartered in Speke, Liverpool.
