A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman, 24, was reportedly stabbed to death this morning
A woman in her 20s has tragically died while another man has been hospitalised after the pair were reportedly ‘stabbed’ at an address in London.
Emergency services swarmed Uxbridge Road at around 7.55am this morning (Sunday, July 12) to reports of a double stabbing.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 24-year-old woman was found with fatal stab wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
A man, aged in his 20s, was also located outside the property with stab injuries. The Metropolitan Police has said the force is still awaiting an update into his condition.
A 44-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Officers located him nearby based on the suspect’s description.
The alleged suspect is also in hospital with injuries believed to be caused by jumping from a window.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo said: “This is a shocking incident which has tragically resulted in one woman losing her life and another man in hospital with injuries.
“Our thoughts at this time are with both victims and their loved ones, who are being supported by specialist officers.
“Our enquiries are in the early stages but we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public.
“However, we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything or who has any information that could assist our investigation.
“We know this incident will have caused significant concern in the community and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.”
