Two brothers who died in a tragic car crash on the A30 in Cornwall during half-term have been identified.
Tobias and Finley Rice were killed following the devastating incident at Connor Downs on May 29.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on the westbound carriageway of the major road shortly before 11am.
Tobias, aged eight, died at the scene of the collision, while Finley, aged five, passed away in hospital three days later on June 2.
Both boys were pupils at Priory CE Primary School in Christchurch, Dorset, which has been left grieving and in shock by their devastating loss, according to the BBC, reports Cornwall Live.
Headteacher Simon Croutear paid a heartfelt tribute to the youngsters, describing them as “cherished members of our school family” who would be “immensely missed”.
“Our whole school community has been shocked and grieved by the tragic loss of Tobias and Finley,” he said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their family who we are in touch with and are supporting in every way we can.”
The BBC reported that Mr Croutear released the brothers’ names with their family’s permission.
A woman in her 70s was treated at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth after sustaining serious injuries.
A woman in her 40s was also treated for injuries at Derriford Hospital and has since been discharged.
The two women and two children were all travelling in the same vehicle. Police confirmed that relatives are being supported by specially trained officers. A local man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He received treatment for minor injuries.
He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
