Shoppers are urging Iceland not to change the recipe
Iceland shoppers are raving about a ready meal they claim is ‘tastier than any takeaway’.
The dish, priced from £2, forms part of the supermarket’s extensive frozen range and has garnered numerous five-star reviews on the Iceland website. The retailer has built a reputation for its popular products, with customers frequently rushing to buy everything from baked goods to pizza and desserts. And this particular meal has Iceland shoppers pleading “please don’t change the recipe”, while also calling for additional varieties.
Iceland’s Takeaway Chicken Biryani is available in 375g packs and costs £2.50, or £2 when bought as part of the supermarket’s three for £6 promotion. It is described as ‘cooked basmati rice in a mild spiced curry sauce with cooked seared tikka marinated chicken breast pieces, diced red onion and peppers’.
The dish boasts an average rating of 4.5 out of a possible five stars on the Iceland website, with more than a hundred satisfied customers awarding it the full five stars. One reviewer wrote: “Tried this for the first time yesterday and it is one of the best meals I’ve ever had from Iceland.
“Super tasty and way cheaper than a takeaway and, personally for me, way tastier than any takeaway. Will definitely get again.” Another said: “Perfect chicken chunks seared and marinated. Rice is a superb mix of spices and seasoning.
“Don’t ever change the recipe. Been buying these for years.” A third added: “Excellent product, now come on Iceland do a beef one or lamb one please. Great buy, buy chicken was lovely in it also.”
While a fourth said: “A lot cheaper than a takeaway and very tasty couldn’t recommend it more”.
