As summer is finally here, Aldi shoppers are rushing to get their hands on the new chocolatey treats that are causing a stir on social media with shoppers loving them
With summer now in full swing, supermarket shelves are bursting with exciting new treats perfectly suited to the warmer months ahead, and Aldi is no exception.
Shoppers frequently take to social media to flag exciting new finds and recommend them to others, making it increasingly difficult to resist the temptation of all the new products hitting the shelves. One such shopper, Hannah Jones, filmed her own TikTok documenting her trip to Aldi to get her hands on a brand new summer snack that’s been generating quite a buzz. “Sorry, did I just hear that Aldi has brought out a chocolate that you put in the freezer, and it turns to ice cream? Let’s go,” Hannah announced at the start of her TikTok video, before hopping out of her car and heading into her local Aldi.
“I’m so excited to try these freeze bits from @Aldi UK,” she enthused in the caption of her post.
As she made her way inside the store, she revealed she’d seen other people locating them in the chocolate aisle, so that was her first port of call.
She scanned the shelves briefly before her face lit up with delight as she announced she’d tracked down the chocolates she was after, turning the camera round to give viewers a proper look at her discovery.
The chocolates in question are the Freeze Me Bites, available in several flavour options, including ‘Chilla Vanilla’ — appearing to feature a vanilla filling coated in a layer of chocolate. There’s also the ‘Straw-brrrr-y’, a white chocolate variant boasting a strawberry-flavoured centre, alongside the ‘Double Chilly Choc’, described as milk chocolate with a cocoa filling.
Priced at £1.99 per bag, each 140g pack is filled with individually wrapped chocolatey morsels.
“I’m gonna grab all three,” Hannah declared as she brought the three different bags over to the self-scanning till to pay.
Hannah was far from alone in her enthusiasm, as the comment section quickly filled with equally eager viewers keen to share their thoughts.
One person commented: “OMG you have just reminded me I have some of these hiding in my veg drawer in the freezer. My kids never find them in there hiding under the healthy stuff lol.
“Why am I seeing this an hour after I got back from Aldi? The freezer section was totally empty and all I wanted was a choc ice!” wrote another disappointed shopper.
“The white chocolate and Strawberry ones taste like milka lollies. Everyone saying they are gross, I thought they were nice though preferred them not frozen lol,” a third person shared.
Meanwhile, another user offered a rather tempting suggestion: “Try a kinder bueno in the freezer, life changing.”
Yet another user chimed in with a less glowing verdict: “It definitely does not turn into ice cream. I bought some and the middle just turns into cold vanilla goo instead of warm vanilla goo.”
