A 39-year-old woman has been arrested after a man was found dead in Eston – police say enquiries are ongoing to locate a second suspect
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in the North East.
Cleveland Police were called to Ayton Crescent in Eston at around 11pm last night where a man was found with significant injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A 39-year-old woman has been arrested and remains in police custody, while enquiries are ongoing to locate a second suspect, Teesside Live reports.
The emergency response included support from the National Police Air Service. A cordon has been erected on Ayton Crescent and officers are to remain on the scene while the investigation continues.
There will be an increased and visible police presence in the area to provide reassurance to the community, the force said.
Superintendent Daryll Tomlinson said: “This is a fast-moving investigation, and we have quickly made an arrest. I would like to thank members of the public who have come forward with information, as well as the National Police Air Service for their support through the night.
“I would like to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident, with no wider risk to the public. Officers will remain at the scene in Ayton Crescent, and there will be an increased presence in the area.

One neighbour told Teesside Live he arrived back from London after watching Middlesbrough FC vs Hull City in the Championship Playoff Final to find the street was flooded with armed police. Drones and a police helicopter were also spotted in the area.
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson said: We received a call at 23.22 on Saturday, May 23, to an incident at a private address on Ayton Crescent in Eston. Police attended the scene and we dispatched two emergency ambulance crews, a duty officer, a doctor and the Medicar.”
