Changes can happen to payment dates periodically during the year on key dates
Brits expecting a State Pension or benefit payment may receive their money at a different time than usual this month. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has confirmed that certain scheduled payments due on Monday, May 25 will be issued early, with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) anticipated to adopt a similar adjusted payment schedule.
This is because DWP offices and telephone lines will be shut over the bank holiday. Payments are normally processed when all services are operational, including webchat facilities and Jobcentre Plus branches.
Payments such as State Pension, Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Child Benefits and Attendance Allowance scheduled for Monday, May 25 will arrive in bank accounts on Friday, May 22. Below is a list of DWP and HMRC payments which may be impacted by the May bank holidays, reports the Daily Record.
It’s important to be aware if your upcoming payment does not fall on Monday, May 25 – it will be issued as normal.
