McDonald’s has more than 1,400 branches in the UK and Ireland, of which around 80% of these are franchised
If you’re already planning a McDonald’s trip this bank holiday Monday, then we have good news for you.
McDonald’s has more than 1,400 branches in the UK and Ireland, of which around 80% of these are franchised – this means opening hours do vary.
But the majority of McDonald’s are scheduled to be open as normal this bank holiday Monday, May 4, according to the restaurants we checked online today.
You may find the odd branch does decide to close or shorten its opening hours at some point this weekend, so double check your local restaurant to avoid disappointment.
You can check opening times of your local branch by using its restaurant locator tool. For example, the McDonald’s in Brighton, Western Road, is open from 5am until 11.45am every day, including bank holiday Monday.
McDonald’s in Leicester, Abbey Way, is open 24 hours every day. McDonald’s in Liverpool Lord Street and Cardiff Newport Road are also both open 24 hours including on bank holidays.
It comes after McDonald’s revealed its latest menu update, including the return of the Big Tasty and the Double Big Tasty.
The Big Tasty contains a beef patty (two if you go for the double), cheese slices, lettuce, onions, juicy tomato and a smoky flavoured sauce in a sesame topped bun.
For a side dish, McDonald’s is bringing back the ever-popular Mozzarella Dippers. If you’ve never tried these, they are mozzarella cheese sticks coated in breadcrumbs and served with a salsa dip.
Its breakfast menu has also been given a makeover, with the new Sausage and Egg McMuffin with Frank’s RedHot Ketchup and the Breakfast Wrap with Frank’s RedHot Ketchup.
The Sausage and Egg McMuffin features your regular pork sausage patty, a free-range egg and a slice of cheese in a toasted muffin, but with the addition of Frank’s RedHot Ketchup.
The Breakfast Wrap consists of a pork sausage patty, two free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, a crispy potato rosti and cheese served in a tortilla wrap with Frank’s RedHot Ketchup.
For dessert, say welcome back to the Biscoff McFlurry featuring a Biscoff biscuit crumb swirled onto soft serve ice cream, and the Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry.
Maccies has also added the following new drinks to its menu: Raspberry Sprite Zero, Pineapple Sprite Zero, Frozen Cherry Lemonade and the Chocolate Honeycomb Frappe.
