Jasper Gunton was born at his mother Mia Gunton’s home in Mosley Street in Blackburn on 21 December 2023. Mia had hidden her pregnancy and had not sought any antenatal care, Preston Coroners’ Court heard.
Following Jasper’s birth, his mum took him to bed with her and let him sleep on her chest. In the morning, Jasper was discovered unresponsive. Paramedics were called but he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an inquest held on Tuesday, April 21, Area Coroner Kate Bisset returned a narrative conclusion and said: “Jasper Gunton was born and died on the 21st December 2023 at his home address.
