A teacher has caused outrage after allegedly asking a student for “proof” that she was on her period. He has since been deemed “disgusting” as people can’t believe how the events are said to have unfolded.
A video of the troubling tale has gone viral after it was shared by Ebury Official online, where it’s claimed a formal complaint has been made about the incident, though little more is known about this process. Nonetheless, people have been left totally stunned by the tale, as they’re gobsmacked a teacher was able to ask such a personal question while working at a school.
It’s not the first time such a story has emerged either. A few years back, a teacher is also reported to have told a female student to try and control her period.
In a clip shared online, the storyteller said: “I have just got off the phone to a mum whose daughter was forced to get her used tampon out of the bin because the male teacher said it was impossible that she was on her period again because she was only on two weeks ago.
“She was two minutes late to lesson because she couldn’t get to the toilet in time because of the queue. So, when she got to the lesson, he demanded that she go and get it out of the bin, bring it into the classroom and prove that she was actually on her period.
“This class had another 28 children in it – mixed boys and girls – and they witnessed the entire thing. It was a science teacher.
“Have we still got fully grown adults that think girls just have a period once a month for five days? No uterus, no opinion.
“Can you imagine if your boss did this? I’m so angry.”
She said that when it comes to situations like this, she doesn’t understand how the students are made to “look like the problem”. It’s something she’s “sick” of, which is why she thought it was important to highlight.
The video has been viewed thousands of times since it was shared, and hundreds of people commented too. Many thought the teacher’s actions were “disgusting”.
One wrote: “That’s disgusting. That poor girl could have endometriosis.”
Another added: “Why is he ‘tracking’ someone else’s child’s periods? Men need educating about periods as it is.
“Has he heard of irregular cycles? PCOS? Endometriosis? Sometimes I can’t believe the things I hear you say because they’re so wild.”
A third replied: “What a complete scumbag.” Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “Please tell me she didn’t do it. That’s disgusting of any teacher to demand. She’s probably SO embarrassed. I feel so bad for her.”
Someone else also noted: “Periods are sporadic in girls. Irregular. Their cycles take a while to become regular and how regular varies from woman to woman. 28 days is the average. Some cycles are shorter. Others longer.”
If you know someone this has happened to, it’s best to ask a parent or guardian to contact the school to address the issue. Never ignore such a problem if anyone is being made to feel uncomfortable.
