Chinese online retail giant JD.com has launched its Joybuy platform in the UK to challenge major rivals including Amazon.

But is it really cheaper than Amazon? It all depends on what you are looking for.
The Mirror compared several items across both retailers – including food, home, beauty and electronic products – and found some were cheaper on Joybuy, while others had a lower price Amazon.
For example, we found a 40 box of Felix As Good As It Looks Favourites Selection in Jelly cost £13.99 on Joybuy but the price on Amazon was £12.95.
But a 500g pack of Barilla Spaghetti was 90p on Joybuy, versus £1 on Amazon.
Joybuy was cheapest for a De’Longhi Magnifica Start Automatic Bean To Cup Coffee Machine at £279.99, compared to £299.99 at Amazon.
But a 50ml bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Eau de Toilette was just £32.30 at Amazon, versus £60 at Joybuy.

What about delivery fees? The delivery cost for Joybuy depends on how much you spend. There is free delivery on orders of £29 or more, while orders of less than £29 are charged a delivery fee of £3.99.
Joybuy has launched its own carrier, JoyExpress, and it also works with Royal Mail and DPD.
Amazon offers free standard delivery on eligible orders over £35, or £10 for books, or free shipping to pickup locations.
Prime members get free UK delivery. For non-Prime members, one-day or premium delivery costs £4.99, or £3.99 for media, and same-day delivery costs £5.99.
