The UK is forecast a three-day mini heatwave this week as temperatures are starting to climb into the 20s across the nation before dropping again ahead of the weekend
The UK can expect a scorcher this week as a three-day mini heatwave is forecast to strike the nation.
Temperatures have been warming up over the past few days in many regions and according to WXCharts, which use MetDesk data, the forecast is looking up again.
Temperatures over the coming days will hit a sizzling 22C in certain areas, with most of Britain reaching the higher end of the teens.
Regions in the south west are forecast to see the best of the spring warmth with Somerset and Bristol welcoming highs of 22C according to the weather maps on Wednesday, April 8.
This mini heatwave hits during the half term break before dramatically dropping again before the weekend.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “As Storm Dave has now moved away, and this high pressure is building behind it, we’re now dragging up warmer air from the continent.
“It’s one of the seasons where it can change really quickly, day on day.”
On Tuesday, much of the nation will be able to soak up some sunshine as regions across the south will experience temperatures of 18C.
In Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire temperatures are predicted to reach 19C, with cities in the north also expected to hit the high teens.
Wednesday is the warmest day for all, with Cheshire and London experiencing highs of 20C. Across Wales the country is also likely to see averages of 19C and 20C.
After the hottest day of the week, temperatures are anticipated to fall for the south west but still remain in the twenties for other areas in the south.
The capital is forecast to hit 20C again on Thursday with Cambridgeshire and Suffolk also predicted to hit 19C.
According to the Met Office most places across the UK will experience dry conditions with sunny spells, feeling warm in the sunshine. As it comes to Thursday a coolness will hit again as temperatures reach an average for this time of year.
