Stocking up with the discount deal makes each treat cost less than usual
Home Bargains is selling a massive box of Cadbury chocolate for a fraction of the price it would cost at most major supermarkets like Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s. The bulk boxes offer a “deliciously guilt-free” way to stock up on a fan favourite Easter treat.
This year, Easter falls in early April with the four-day weekend starting on Good Friday (April 3) and ending on Easter Monday (April 6). Easter is on Sunday, April 5, and the tradition has long been dominated by sweet treats and chocolate.
One of the most popular items that many Brits look forward to at Easter is the return of Cadbury’s Creme Egg. However, to stock up and have plenty to go around, people may resort to buying bulk boxes rather than smaller options sold in supermarkets.
Home Bargains has slashed the cost of the “irresistible” treats from almost £48 down to just over £23.50. In the box, shoppers get a huge haul of 48 individually wrapped white chocolate Creme Eggs.
Describing the pack online, a spokesperson said: “Enjoy the creamy, melt-in-your-mouth delight of Cadbury White Chocolate Creme Egg – a simple, irresistible treat perfect for any sweet craving. Made with sustainably sourced cocoa, it’s a deliciously guilt-free indulgence.”
On their own, the white chocolate Creme Eggs vary in price at supermarkets across the UK. They cost 70p each in Asda or 85p in Tesco (without a Clubcard, reducing them to 50p) and Sainsbury’s. Without the current 70p offer on, the eggs are usually £1 each in Morrisons.
The bulk box at Home Bargains costs £23.48 for 48 individually wrapped eggs. Dividing that cost, each Creme Egg costs just 49p. The same bulk box is sold directly from the Cadbury website for £47.52 (working out at 99p per egg), though at the time of writing, it was out of stock.

Be careful not to eat too many treats like this, as it takes very little to go beyond the daily recommended intake of sugar and fat for a healthy, balanced diet. A typical 40g Cadbury White Creme Egg contains approximately 27g of sugar (more than six teaspoons) and 6.1g of fat, according to the nutritional details.
The category of sugars that most adults and children in the UK eat too much of is ‘free sugars’. The NHS claimed on its website: “These are any sugars added to food or drinks [by a chef or other food manufacturer], such as biscuits, chocolate, flavoured yoghurts, breakfast cereals and fizzy drinks.”
The NHS has outlined on its website how much sugar people are recommended to limit themselves to daily, based on their age:
- Adults should have no more than 30g of free sugars a day, (roughly equivalent to seven sugar cubes)
- Children aged seven to 10 should have no more than 24g of free sugars a day (six sugar cubes)
- Children aged four to six should have no more than 19g of free sugars a day (five sugar cubes)
- Children aged two to three should have no more than 14g of free sugars a day (three and a half sugar cubes)
- Children aged one should have no more than 10g of free sugars a day (two and a half sugar cubes)
Having too much sugar can lead to high-calorie intake, which can result in weight gain. Being overweight raises your risk of health problems such as heart disease, some cancers and type 2 diabetes. Sugar is also one of the main causes of tooth decay.
