Remember Zara’s poka dot dress from 2023? This H&M wedding guest-ready dress has all the makings of being the next viral hit
Every spring there’s one high-street dress that suddenly seems to be everywhere. A few years ago it was Zara’s polka-dot midi — the one that went viral in 2023 and ended up being worn by what felt like half the country. This year, I’m convinced the crown will go to H&M thanks to its Floral Linen-Blend Dress.
At £44.99, this new-in launch at H&M has all the ingredients of a warm-weather hit. It’s made from a light fabric blend that includes linen and lyocell, which means it’s airy and comfortable enough for hot days, while the fitted bodice and flared tiered skirt create an easy, flattering shape everyone gravitates towards once the sun appears.
The design details also feel very ‘spring 2026’. There are softly puffed sleeves, a deep V neckline and a tie-back detail that gives the waist a bit of definition without making the dress feel restrictive. The cream base with delicate pink floral print gives it that romantic, countryside feel that always dominates once wedding season rolls around.
Boden’s gorgeous new gingham jacket is about to become the M&S barn coat of spring
And that’s exactly where I expect to see this dress popping up the most. I expect it’ll be a huge hit for spring and summer weddings, considering the dress is printed enough to not look nude and upset the bride. Swap heels for ballet flats or trainers and suddenly it becomes a weekend brunch dress or an easy holiday outfit. We love a versatile buy,
If the Zara spot dress taught us anything, it’s that when a high-street brand gets the balance right, flattering shape, pretty print and an affordable price, the internet tends to respond. And with wedding season just around the corner, I wouldn’t be surprised if this H&M number becomes the one everyone’s talking about.
Another one of my sell-out style predictions for spring is Boden’s new Gloucester Mac in grey-brown multigingham. Think of it as the seasonal equivalent of M&S’ Padded Barn Jacket, the £75 winter favourite that sold out across the country and pretty much every M&S shopper had on rotation. That coat’s spring sister has arrived, and she’s got all the makings of an it jacket in her own right.
At £189, it’s definitely an investment piece, but the details on Boden’s Gloucester mac do feel very much worth the splurge.
