Testing found that some 2021-2023 boilers may ignite late, causing pressure damage and possible carbon monoxide leaks

An urgent recall notice has been issued for a boiler over fears it could leak carbon monoxide.

The model being recalled is the Viessmann Vitorondens 200-T / 222-F Oil Condensing Boiler with Vitoflame 300 Oil Blue Flame Burner, which is made in Germany.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued the recall after testing found that some 2021-2023 boilers may ignite late, causing pressure damage and possible carbon monoxide leaks.

“This could expose people in the building to unsafe exhaust gases and potentially lead to asphyxiation,” the recall notice explains.

Some of the most common symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include headaches, dizziness, weakness, upset stomach, vomiting, and chest pain.

Viessmann has contacted customers, who will receive replacement parts.

The recall notice says: ”Affected users will receive a replacement ignition module and burner control unit, and a CO detector with shut-off function or conversion of the burner to current series configuration with pressure sensor.”

If you believe you have this boiler model, but you haven’t heard from Viessmann, you should contact the manufacturer to arrange replacement parts.

For other product recalls, you can check the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Chartered Trading Standards (CTS) Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they’ve pulled a product from shelves.

In more recall news, Savers has recalled two of Rihanna perfumes over fears they contain toxic chemicals.

The budget chain said certain batches of Kiss and Riri by Rihanna were found to contain hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional, known by the trade names Lyral and Lilial.

Lyral was banned due to a high number of allergic reactions, while Lilial was no longer allowed due to concerns it could affect women’s reproductive system, as well as unborn babies.

The affected batch codes are 0608940572252 for Kiss by Rihanna and 0608940560389 for Riri by Rihanna. Both are 15ml bottles. If you’ve purchased one of these perfumes, you should return it to your nearest Savers for a full refund.

In a recall notice on the Savers website, the retailer said: “Savers have today (3rd March 2026) issued a recall of the above fragrance lines as some have been found to contain ingredients – hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional which are prohibited from sale in the UK.

“Customers should return any of the above products purchased at a Savers store to the place of purchase, where they will be issued a full refund.”

It continued: “If you are unsure if you have one of the above products, please speak to our store teams who will be happy to help. Savers would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
