‘The tour highlighted all of the sights we wanted to see and exceeded our expectations’
With the cold and wet weather persisting in the UK, many will be looking to book a holiday as something to look forward to. Solo trips are a great way to explore the world and meet new people – and one company has a great deal on offer for group tours.
Currently, with Wendy Wu Tours, solo travellers can receive free or half price single supplements on a wide selection of group tours, saving up to £1,680 per person on trips such as the ‘Ultimate South America’ holiday. It covers a wide range of destinations and departures through 2026 and 2027, with the offer valid on bookings until February 28.
The offer includes group tours only but excludes Tailormade, Private Tours and Cruise & Tour holidays. The company says the ‘Free Single Supplement’ and ‘Half Price Single Supplement’ offers are as displayed on the website, available on Flight Inclusive or Land Only bookings. However, it is subject to limited availability.
The ‘Free Single Supplement’ offer, saving up to £1,680pp, is available for China trips, including all departures of A China Experience, In Pursuit of Pandas, Glories of China and Majestic Yangtze for 2026. Travellers can also choose from places such as India, Latin America, Europe and Africa, meaning there is something for everyone.
For example, the Majestic Yangtze tour is a 14-day, fully inclusive trip, with prices from £3,490pp. Travellers will be able to see the natural grandeur of the Three Gorges on a relaxing Yangtze River Cruise, along with China’s ‘enthralling cities’ of Shanghai, Xian and Beijing. There will also be the opportunity to see the Giant Pandas of Chengdu, the site says.

For the Half Price Single Supplements, travellers can save up to £995pp. This includes places such as Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Latin America and Africa. The company says it is worth noting that a supplement is usually charged to solo travellers occupying a double hotel room.
The Japan Uncovered trip, for example, is a 17-day group tour, with prices from £7,190pp. Described as the ‘most popular’ Japan tour, this includes ‘all the classic sights and key cultural activities’, the company says, such as seeing Mt Fuji and sumo wrestling.
As an alternative, travellers could look to Flash Pack, which has a number of solo trips on offer. There is an ‘Italy: South’ trip for seven days from £3,235, ‘Escapism in the Philippines’ for 12 days from £3,620 or the ‘Thailand: Phuket & Andaman Coast’ trip for 10 days from £2,310, the site says.
Or Riviera Travel has some alternative offers. This company has River Cruises, Escorted Tours, Solo Holidays and Ocean & Yacht Cruises available, with a current ‘boosted 20% off’ River Cruises, including the Danube, Rhône, Rhine and Douro, the site says.
On Trustpilot, however, travellers have left an overall 4.4 out of five-star rating for Wendy Wu Tours, from more than 200 reviews, making its rating ‘Excellent’. One said: “Egypt is a fantastic country to visit. The tour highlighted all of the sights we wanted to see and exceeded our expectations. The tour director and guide were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. The hotels and cruise boat were wonderful and all of the transport clean and efficient.”
Another wrote: “The Wendy Wu – Gems of China tour, hosted by our tour manager Yang with excellent local guides (shout out to Alice, Felix, Kevin, Amanda, LJ, Steven) was the perfect blend of historical treasures, local cuisine and natural wonders that we hoped it would be. Fast paced but with travel time and a relaxing river cruise to breathe, we didn’t want to leave.”
Others left feedback, with one writing as part of a longer review: “A tour of a lifetime with memories that are only starting to really emerge after a week at home. Not perfect but, then again, if you want an authentic experience how could it be.”
Overall, most were pleased with their trips, with another writing as part of a longer review: “I loved every moment of the tour. I ticked off a lot of places such as The Great Wall, Pandas cubs playing, Terracotta Warriors and the Glass Bridge and walkways at Zhangjiajie, and Yangtze river cruise. I did not expect such amazing shows and wonderful meals.”
Solo travellers will want to check out the sale on Wendy Wu Tours.
