The Met Office has revealed more snow could fall across the UK this week, as its latest weather forecast names exactly where could see the white stuff before the weekend
The Met Office has revealed where in the UK could see snow this week.
Several regions had snow this weekend as the Met Office was forced to issue a number of weather warnings. Those warnings have now expired, but more wintry conditions appear to be on the cards this week.
The Met Office says conditions will be “cold and frosty” to begin with tomorrow, with “dry and sunny spells” for many. “Scattered showers are possible, mainly in the north and east,” the forecast adds. Conditions will turn “cloudy across the southwest” in the evening, with snow then possible later in the week.

The Met Office says conditions will be largely “dry” in northern regions on Wednesday and Thursday, while “rain and hill snow” could fall in the south. The nights are expected to be “frosty” later this week, with rain “spreading in from the west on Friday”.
BBC Weather also says snow could impact southern regions later this week. BBC forecasters predict this will come alongside heavy rain and sleet.
The BBC forecast for Wednesday to Friday states: “Wednesday will see a cloudy but dry start. Cloud will break in the afternoon, allowing some clear spells to develop.
“In the evening, however, outbreaks of heavy rain, sleet and hill snow will develop from the south. Thursday is set to start rather cloudy with patchy rain and sleet. Turning drier and brighter in the afternoon. Friday will start dry and bright, but cloudy later.”
More snow could follow later in February too. The Met Office forecast for February 20 to March 1 states: “Showers or longer spells of rain, as well as occasional strong winds, are most likely at first as Atlantic low pressure systems dominate in the vicinity of the UK.
“Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow probable at times, mainly on high ground in the north. Temperatures varying from around, or a little above, average especially in the south to cold at times, mainly in the north.
“Although unsettled weather is likely to dominate at first, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. These drier interludes will become increasingly likely and perhaps more prolonged through the period.”
