Princess Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie are said to have taken different approaches to their scandal-ridden parents, with the latter allegedly cutting all contact with dad Andrew
Princess Beatrice will have been hoping for an uneventful start to 2026, but now she’s been hit with more bad news. The 37-year-old has had her world upended thanks to her parents, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, whose scandal-ridden lives have been picked apart through their long-standing association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Both she and sister Eugenie opted to spend Christmas with the wider royal family, rather than with Andrew and Fergie. And the most recent reports suggest Eugenie has completely cut off their father as a result of his relationship with the convicted paedophile. For her part, Beatrice is said to be “trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the royal family”.

Sadly for Beatrice, it’s not just her parents bringing bad news to her door. It’s now been claimed that one of the projects her husband Edo’s business was involved in has been put into administration.
His interior company, Banda Property, won a contract to work on a £125million seaside luxury development by Rory O’Brien in Australia. The property, called Masthead Ocean Club, is located in Australia’s Gold Coast and features 28 luxury apartments right by the beach.
But four years after Edo’s work on the 37-storey tower, the project went bust, with the firm behind it going into administration, owing backers £10million, according to The Sun. The outlet said the plot has now been fenced off with signs saying ‘Mortgagee in Possession’.
Beatrice and Eugenie have understandably been keeping a very low profile in recent months. While Beatrice is believed to be maintaining a relationship with their father – her younger sibling is said to be estranged from the disgraced Duke.
According to royal expert Afua Hagan, it comes down to “self-preservation”. Speaking on Good Morning Britain, she said: “This is not a surprise. This is definitely about self-preservation on her part. For herself, for her young family, for her husband, for her interests, for the charities she’s associated with. I think she doesn’t want guilt by association.”
Hagan further noted that Andrew’s refusal to apologise to Epstein’s victims has likely played a part. She said: “I think there’s also the element of he is not apologising to any of the victims in this whole Epstein scandal and we do know he has denied the allegations levelled against him. He does not seem to have any remorse and that does not sit well with her.”
Eugenie’s reported stance comes after several uncomfortable images of her father appeared in the Epstein files. A series of images and documents relating to the Epstein scandal were made public before Christmas and included a photograph of Andrew lying on the laps of women. While a photo does not suggest any wrongdoing, Andrew’s appearance in the files added fresh scrutiny to the family. Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied all accusations against him.
